Boulevard Christian Church was officially organized Sunday, February 3, 1957 when 24 people pledged themselves to build a church in Essex. Their purpose was to win people to faith in Jesus Christ and commit them actively to His church; to help them grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ that increasingly they may know and do His will; to work for the unity of all Christians and with them engage in the common task of building the world-wide kingdom of God. Through decades of world changes the Church has faithfully held to its calling and remains today as a faithful body of believers in Jesus Christ growing together in His strength by His grace.
